Justice is an almost universally-agreed upon concept which has been developed internationally by human societies throughout history. Some societies have believed that the laws of justice are given out by Gods or prophets while others believed that justice is simply a logical outcome of people living together and transgressing against one another. Regardless of where the system of justice came from or how it evolved, the point is that everyone seems to agree to a certain degree of equality and fairness ensured and enforced by the state. We all want to see wrongs righted to whatever extent that is even possible. If businesses, individuals, or government entities treat someone badly, they should have the means to seek recourse through the justice system, regardless of their gender, sexuality, income, or location. This might be an idyllic representation of the justice system, but it is something we should strive for. Essentially, this is why lawyers exist. Lawyers jobs are to represent their clients under the auspices of the law so that an impartial judge or jury can decide on each individual case without bias.
